I am Sunok Lee,
design researcher for Human-centered AI.

Hi, my name is Sunok [sʌn.ɔk̚]. My research focuses on encouraging a positive relationship  between humans and AI. My ultimate research vision is to create a cycle where humans and AI learn from and teach each other, contributing to a better future.

From the AI perspective, I design user-centered interactions and propose design directions to closely connect AI technologies with users' lives (IJHCI 2022 & Ubicomp 2020).

From the human aspect, I am working on various initiatives to enhance users' AI literacy. This aims to empower individuals to communicate and collaborate more effectively with AI (CHI 2023).

I am currently a Postdoctoral Researcher of CRAI-CIS group in the Department of Computer Science at Aalto University. Previously, I completed my Ph.D. in the Department of Industrial Design at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (KAIST), where I was advised by Prof. Sangsu Lee in the Next Interface Lab. I received my M.S. in Industrial Design from KAIST as well. My undergraduate studies were completed at Hongik University, where I earned a BFA in Sculpture and Art Education, with a second major in Metal Arts and Design.
